My devices — the assets portal

For everyone

The assets portal is a single page at /assets that lists every asset currently assigned to you.

For each device on your name:

  • Reference — the asset identifier used in the register. Quote this if you raise a ticket about it.
  • Name — the device name as set in the register.
  • Asset type — hardware, software, furniture, vehicle, equipment, or other.
  • Manufacturer + model — for context.
  • Category — the asset class. Drives what’s expected of the device (refresh cycle, asset insurance treatment).
  • Since — date the device was assigned to you.

You can’t edit anything from this page. It’s a read-only view so you know what you’re carrying. If the device is something you no longer need, use the Return this button — IT will be notified.

Below the current list, a Previously held section shows assets that were assigned to you in the past, with their assignment and return dates.

  • Assets on a colleague’s name — even ones you sometimes use. The portal is strictly the currently assigned list.
  • Pool assets you reserved — those are tracked in reservations, not assignment.
  • Retired or returned assets — only active assignments show.
  • Device is faulty or broken — see raising a ticket. Include the reference and a description of what’s wrong.
  • You’re leaving and need to return everything — raise a leaver ticket; the assignment is removed by IT during off-boarding.
  • The device on your list isn’t actually yours — flag it. Assignment errors come up when a device passes hands without an IT step.
  • New assignments may take a moment to propagate. If IT just gave you something and it’s not on the list, refresh.
  • The portal is workspace-scoped — if your trust has multiple workspaces and you have assets in more than one, switch workspace from the top-bar to see the others.
  • This view doesn’t show your reservation of a shared kit — that’s the reservations surface (agent-side).
