Section titled “The assets dashboard”
The dashboard is the asset coordinator’s default landing. Headline KPIs at the top, charts and sparklines in the middle, licence utilisation and recent stocktake activity at the bottom.
What’s on it
Section titled “What’s on it”- Headline KPIs — total assets, in-service count, currently assigned, needs-tag count, warranties expiring in the next 60 days, and total procurement value. Each is a live count from the database.
- Status distribution — bar chart of assets by lifecycle status (ordered, received, in service, under maintenance, retired, disposed).
- Type distribution — bar chart of assets by type (hardware, software, furniture, vehicle, equipment, other).
- Age cohorts — counts by purchase-date age band: under 1 year, 1–3 years, 3–5 years, over 5 years, and unknown. The “5y+” bucket is the refresh-planning prompt.
- Acquisitions (12 months) — rolling monthly bar chart of assets added by purchase date over the last year.
- Software licences — top 5 licence pools by total seats, showing used vs total and a utilisation bar. Red when over-subscribed.
- Recent stocktakes — the five most recently opened stocktake sessions with their open/closed status.
- Expired-warranty alert — a banner at the foot of the page when any assets are past their warranty expiry date.
What it’s not
Section titled “What it’s not”It’s not a replacement for the compliance reports — that’s the longer-window asset hygiene view. The dashboard is for the day-to-day; reports are for the monthly readout.
It’s not where you do work — links from the dashboard header take you to the register and stocktake. The dashboard itself has no forms.
Gotchas
Section titled “Gotchas”- The dashboard reads live from the database each load. There’s no caching, so it’s accurate but doesn’t auto-refresh. Reload the page if you’ve just changed something elsewhere.
- The Warranty 60d KPI counts assets with a warranty expiry date between today and 60 days from now. The expired-warranty banner covers anything already past expiry — they are two separate counts.
