My bookings — the estates portal
For everyoneMy bookings
Section titled “My bookings”The estates portal is a single page at /estates/bookings — your room bookings. Pending and confirmed ones whose end-time is still in the future.
What you see
Section titled “What you see”Each booking shows:
- Purpose — what you said you’d use the room for.
- Room — name and (if known) building.
- Starts at / ends at — the time slot.
- Status — pending or confirmed. Pending means estates haven’t reviewed it yet; confirmed means it’s locked in.
- Cancel — appears when the booking start is sufficiently far in the future. Sufficiently defaults to 30 minutes but your trust may have set a different notice window.
Cancelling
Section titled “Cancelling”Click Cancel. The booking moves to cancelled; the room becomes available again for someone else to grab. There’s no undo — if you cancel by mistake, raise a new booking (you can re-use the purpose text).
If the Cancel button isn’t there, you’re inside the notice window. Bookings that are imminent (or in progress) can’t be self-cancelled — talk to estates if you genuinely need to release the slot.
What you don’t see here
Section titled “What you don’t see here”- Bookings that already finished — kept in the database but hidden from this view.
- Bookings someone else made on your behalf — they belong to the booker.
Gotchas
Section titled “Gotchas”- The cancel notice window is a setting your trust controls. The default is 30 minutes; some trusts set it to several hours. If a booking won’t cancel and you don’t know why, that’s the likely reason.
- A room is single-occupant per time slot. If someone already holds an overlapping booking, your request is rejected at the moment you submit it (you’ll see the clash message there and then) — it isn’t accepted and quietly cancelled later.
- This page lists only your bookings. If you booked on behalf of a colleague, you control the row — they don’t.
