My leave
For everyoneMy leave
Section titled “My leave”The leave page at /me/leave is your own self-service surface for annual leave and other absence. It shows your balances, lets you raise a request, and lists everything you’ve submitted. It only ever shows your data — there’s no permission to set up, because it’s keyed to the staff record linked to your account.
If your account isn’t linked to a staff record, the page tells you so and points you at HR. Until it’s linked, you can’t book leave here.
Your balances
Section titled “Your balances”The Balances section lists each leave type you have an entitlement for, the leave year, and how many days you’ve got left out of your allowance.
Requesting leave
Section titled “Requesting leave”Fill in the Request leave form:
- Type — picked from the active leave types your trust has set up.
- Leave year — e.g.
2025-26. - Start and End — the dates. The end must be on or after the start.
- Half day (start) / Half day (end) — tick these if the first or last day is a half day; the working-days total is adjusted for you.
- Reason — optional.
Submit, and the request goes to your approver (your line manager or HR, depending on how your trust is set up) for a decision. New requests start in requested status.
Your requests
Section titled “Your requests”The My requests list shows each request with its type, leave year, dates, working days, and status (requested, approved, declined or cancelled).
Cancelling
Section titled “Cancelling”A Cancel button appears next to any request that’s still in requested status — i.e. one nobody has decided yet. Once a request has been approved or declined, you can’t cancel it from here; speak to HR if something needs to change.
Gotchas
Section titled “Gotchas”- The working-days figure is calculated for you from the dates and the half-day flags — you don’t enter it.
- You can only cancel a request that’s still pending. There’s no self-cancel once it’s approved.
- Approval routing and the decision itself happen on the HR side — see Leave & absence if you’re also an approver.
